Portraits in Oil 2012
Painting with oils triggered my passion for art as a child. As a watercolorist it is a revelation to return to this medium. My watercolor paintings can be seen here: Watercolor paintings.
The process of painting with oils is the direct opposite of painting with watercolors in every sense; lean to fat, light to dark. Each medium presents it's own challenges.
These portrait studies were painted primarily in two sessions. Painted on primed canvas, the tronies' sizes are: 11x14", 12x16" the square painting is 12 x12"
My portrait paintings are evolving. I am curious to see where this journey will take me.
